Located on the university’s 30.8-acre (125,000 m2) Health Sciences campus three miles (5 km) northeast of downtown Los Angeles, California, the Keck School of Medicine is adjacent to the Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center — one of the largest teaching hospitals in the U.S.
Keck’s faculty, students and residents staff neighboring USC University Hospital, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital, Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center, Doheny Eye Institute, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and an extended network of USC-affiliated hospitals throughout Southern California.
Keck School departments have risen to national prominence with many among the best in the U.S.: ophthalmology(8), urology(16), neurosurgery & neurology(20), pulmonology(28), gynecology(29), and orthopedics(31). Affiliated Children's Hospital Los Angeles is currently the best children's hospital on the West Coast according to U.S. News and World Report.
